On May 11, 2019 I’m joining 32 Sierra Club volunteers and staff to run the Yosemite Half Marathon and raise money for Sierra Club.
I'll admit I'm a bit nervous about this. Not about raising $$ for Sierra Club, of course! But I've never run a race longer than the Bay to Breakers in San Francisco, which is 7.5 miles. Running 13.1 miles at altitude in the Sierras won’t be easy, but the opportunity to experience this place of incredible beauty through the Sierra National Forest and around Bass Lake will make it worth it.
I’m excited to breathe the fresh air and see the beautiful landscape, so in addition to training and running 13.1 miles, I’ve set a goal to raise at least $2,500 for Sierra Club. Will you help me reach my goal by making a donation?
The staff and volunteers at the Sierra Club are working as hard as we can to protect our air and water, fight climate change, and help millions of people to explore and enjoy the planet. Over the last several years, we've helped retire more than 285 dirty coal plants, we've convinced more than 120 cities (and five states so far) to commit to 100% clean energy, and we've fought back every attempt to undermine protections for air, water and wildlife from the Trump Administration.
Our goal is to raise at least $35,000 for this event, and I'm hoping to raise at least $2,500 personally.
Day after day, I see the hard work that Sierra Club volunteer and staff put into protecting our planet and I feel so lucky that I have the chance to experience outdoor wonders like Yosemite National Park.
Will you make a contribution? Thank you!
