I’m trying to raise funds for the Sierra Club. I'm also trying to raise awareness and show off some of the natural beauty of the Florida Panhandle. I figured why not combine those efforts?
I recently started kayaking (a.k.a. I am an amateur and will make mistakes). Follow me as I gain experience and explore the rivers, lakes and bays of the Florida Panhandle. I am pledging to paddle at least 100 miles and I will be documenting it with pictures and video which will be posted here and on YouTube, Twitter and Instagram.
So, why am I doing this? Because I care about nature and I want to encourage more people to enjoy and protect it. I want to leave this world in better shape for the next generation to enjoy, and I think the Sierra Club can help me do that. The funds you donate will enable the Sierra Club to do things like:
• Make the outdoors accessible for all of us
• Save animals being threatened with extinction
• Protect our land, water, and air
My goal is $1,000. If you are able, please help me cross the finish line by making a donation. This is important to me because the Sierra Club is making our communities better and I want to help them succeed. If you'd like to learn more about their mission, you can check out sierraclub.org!
As always I wish you happy trails and safe travels!
The river was flooded and I underestimated the difficulty of traversing it in this condition. I managed to make it, but hit a few snags along the way.
I ended at access point 4
I started at access point 2
I paddled 12 miles towards my goal.
