HE DID IT AGAIN: can we raise $900 by the end of the day?!?!
ANOTHER UPDATE: He surpassed his new goal, so we're raising it to $800! Can we do it?!
UPDATE: Alden hit his goal of $500, so we've increased it to $600 for today! Each bit helps to make a difference for our planet!!
Alden is helping me raise money for Earth Day! We'll even be going on an Earth Day hike on Mt. Hood to celebrate our love for Mother nature!
We have a long message you can read below, but FIRST, PRIZES:
ANY DONATION = A PICTURE OF ALDEN ON HIS EARTH DAY HIKE
$25+: WE'LL SEND YOU A VIDEO OF ALDEN EATING (I swear it's exciting, he smooshes things, he throws food on the ground, and he smears it on his face).
$50+: WE'LL SEND YOU A VIDEO OF ALDEN PLAYING PEEK-A-BOO (or at least trying to, this is his newest trick!).
$100+: WE'LL SEND YOU A VIDEO OF ALDEN DOING HIS ARMY CRAWL (trust me, it's adorable).
Alden doesn't say much yet beyond "mama," "dada" "babababababa," "gagagagagaga," "yayayaya," something that resembles "goya," and a lot of other babbling and shouting.
But when he does start talking, I'm going to teach him to use his voice to ask questions like, "what are you doing to protect the Earth so I grow up with a healthy planet?" And I sure as hell plan to have a good answer for him.
Several months ago, the UN released a report that says we have 12 years to act, because a warming of 1 degree will put us in uncharted territory with more severe weather, food scarcity, unlivable temperatures, and even death.
This is a BIG deal.
Alden won't even be a teenager at that point.
So, we have a lot of work to do.
Year after year, I ask family and friends to donate money for causes. And you continue to support me, and it's SO appreciated. I'm asking again because it's important.
Will you donate to Sierra Club for Earth Day? We hope to raise $500 for Earth Day!
When Alden can talk, I'll also teach him how to say "THANK YOU!"
Jessica and Alden
