City Hike: Boston
City Hike: Boston
SIERRA CLUB'S CITY HIKE
Thank you so much for helping to make the 2022 Team Sierra City Hike a success. More than 645 people hiked hundreds of miles all across the country and raised more than $48,000 to protect our planet.
City Hike Boston is part of a nationwide hike that aims to get people outdoors and raise money to protect our planet and our communities. Experience East Boston’s nature, culture, and history. You can learn how local activists have fought for their community and how Sierra Club is now partnering to uplift their voices and win environmental justice victories.
The goal: Hike the route during the challenge period, September 23 – October 17. We’ve custom-designed a route to show you some of the beauty and history of this great neighborhood. Have some fun visiting local establishments and community touchpoints along the way.
Connect with the community of East Boston hikers on social media — share your stories, your photos, your hiking maps. You can increase your impact by asking family and friends to support you with a donation, to help work toward a future with a better, cleaner planet and a more just world. Your fundraising could even earn you some great prizes!
Donations through City Hike: Boston will also remain local as a portion of all proceeds will go to the Sierra Club Massachusetts Chapter as well as to Eastie Farm (an urban farm you will visit on your hike). The Chapter has a proven track record in fighting to improve the city’s climate action policies and advocating statewide for climate justice and environmental action.

WHY FUNDRAISE WITH TEAM SIERRA?
We’re witnessing a climate crisis, and we have already seen the impact of more extreme weather all across the country. And according to the UN, we may only have 9 years to prevent irreversible damage to our future.
Sierra Club needs funding to continue fighting for meaningful action. City Hike is a tangible way to take local action in your community for global climate impact. The Hike will teach you about climate and environmental justice issues in Boston while highlighting some of the city’s most beautiful public resources. Read more about the Sierra Club’s Boston chapter work in our community.
Fundraising for the Sierra Club is easier than ever. Through emails, social media posts, and other creative ideas, and with the help of our fundraising coaches and community, people have raised on average $110. We’re here to help!
The first 150 people to raise $150 get a City Hike tote bag, and the first to raise $350 get a rad gear package (A $675 value!) from our partners.
