ABOUT CITY HIKE
City Hike is a community challenge, and a fun way to connect with nature, whether you live near a forest or in a concrete jungle. You can experience nature, learn about local environmental and social justice issues, and see the impact of Sierra Club’s work nationwide.
The goal: Hike 30 miles between September 23 – October 17. We’ll have flagship events in Boston and Los Angeles with official routes, or you can hike wherever you are across the nation.
Connect with the community on social media and in person — share your stories, your photos, your hiking maps. You can increase your impact by asking family and friends to support you with a donation, to help work toward a future with a better, cleaner planet and a more just world. Your fundraising could even earn you some great prizes!
The money raised funds the Sierra Club’s climate action and environmental justice work. The 30-mile City Hike challenge goal is in recognition of Sierra Club's goal to protect 30% of US lands and water by 2030. Read more about Sierra Club's 2030 goals.
HOW IT WORKS
Register for City Hike. A $35 ticket comes with a Sierra Club membership. A $50 ticket gets you a limited-edition City Hike T-shirt as well (while supplies last—so don’t wait!).
After you buy your ticket, set up your fundraising page and start raising money to support Sierra Club. The first 150 people to raise $150 earn a City Hike tote bag (Design by wildlogic), and the first 50 to raise $350 earn a rad gear package from our partners.
Take a hike! Between September 23 and October 17, get outside with friends and family to celebrate the planet, connect with nature and the Sierra Club. In Boston and Los Angeles, we’ve custom-designed a unique route to show you some of the best highlights of these great cities.
