About Team Sierra ™
YOU are Team Sierra. You care about protecting the places we live and the people we love, and you want to take action!
We have all come together to raise funds to benefit Sierra Club because we love the planet, and we've proven we know how to make an impact. We all pick something we love – running, dancing, biking, hiking, baking, or even using upcoming celebrations like birthdays or weddings to ask for donations to help our planet.
We are glad you are here. Welcome! Let's get started!
About the Sierra Club & Angeles Chapter
The Sierra Club is the nation's largest and most influential grassroots environmental organization. What makes us unique is that we have the grassroots power to create change, with 3.5 million members and supporters, 64 state and regional chapters, and over 400 local groups. Our successes range from protecting millions of acres of wilderness to helping pass the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and Endangered Species Act. More recently, we've made history by leading the charge to move away from the dirty fossil fuels that cause climate disruption and toward a clean energy economy.
The Sierra Club’s Angeles Chapter the organization’s 150,000 members and supporters in Los Angeles and Orange County and has worked to protect the region’s environment and natural resources since 1911. Some initiatives of the Angeles Chapter include:
Wildlands and Wildlife: protecting the wild places and open spaces in our mountains, the desert, and our coastline.
Clean Water: working towards local, resilient water policies such as capturing rainwater and promoting drought-friendly landscapes.
Energy: supporting the transition from dirty electricity generation to clean and renewable energy by converting city fleets of buses and trucks to electric power and promoting community access to affordable sources of 100% renewable energy.
Movement Building: helping our members and supporters become effective and just advocates to protect open spaces, promote reliable local water supplies, and provide clean energy for all.
